Brady Pataki of Wallaceburg is having a breakout playoff season after setting Major Junior personal bests this season with the QMJHL’s Moncton Wildcats.

He helped the Wildcats advance to the second round of the Quebec Major Junior League playoffs scoring four goals and adding an assist in seven games.

He scored in Moncton’s 6-3 game 7 win over the Rimouski Oceanic in round one. His 5-points tied for fourth in team scoring after round one.

Pataki and Moncton will now play the Blainville-Boisbriand Armada.

Brady Pataki is in his fourth Major Junior season, also playing for the Sudbury Wolves and London Knights of the OHL. He scored 8 goals and 15 points in 46 games this season for Moncton.

Althought this is Pataki’s first Major Junior playoff series, he has a reputation as a strong playoff performer from an incredible Minor Midget run with his Chatham-Kent Cyclones team, leading the Cyclones to the OHL Cup, and propelling himself up the OHL Draft list in 2014.

Pataki was recently named Moncton’s Scholastic Player of the Year.
