Brett Brochu Selected By London Knights In OHL Draft

Tilbury’s Brett Brochu was the first player selected from the Chatham-Kent area in Saturday’s OHL Draft, going in the 6th round to the London Knights.

Brochu was picked 114th overall by the Knights in the OHL Priority Selection Draft.

The 5’7″ goaltender, seen by many as undersized, was the backbone of the Chatham-Kent Cyclones Minor Midget ‘AAA’ team this season, playing almost the entire season for the club.

“Great quickness in the crease,” said TheScout.ca Director of Scouting Andrew Sykes of Brochu. “Anticipates and reacts well to any shot. Can pile up saves.”

Brochu was the most worked goaltender in the Alliance this season appearing in 28 games, recording 3 shutouts.

He currently attends Ecole Secondaire de Pain Court.

Former Chatham-Kent Cyclones netminder Joseph Raaymakers is currently the starting goalie for the London Knights.
