Carleton is Asia-Bound
Chatham’s Bridget Carleton is heading overseas.
The Iowa State guard has been named to Canada’s senior women’s basketball team for a four-game exhibition series in Asia.
The tournament runs August 1st to the 7th in China and Japan.
The 12-woman roster was officially unveiled in a news release from Canada Basketball yesterday.
As preparations continue ahead of the FIBA Women’s Basketball World Cup 2018, Canada will face 10th ranked China and 13th ranked Japan. At the FIBA Women’s Asia Cup 2017, Japan (champions) and China (3rdplace) both qualified for this September’s World Cup.
Steve Baur (Canada Basketball) will assume head coaching duties for the series and will be joined by fellow assistant Carly Clarke (Ryerson University).
