Dylan Schives of Tilbury will play Major Junior hockey next season after signing with the QMJHL’s Quebec Remparts.

Schives, a 17-year-old defender, spent last season with the GOJHL’s Chatham Maroons as one of their two underage players.

With Chatham, Schives, who was a long time member of the Chatham-Kent Cyclones ‘AAA’ organization, scored 2 goals and 11 points in 40 games.

Along with the Remparts, Schives also had a pair of OHL tryouts this offseason.

The Quebec Remparts are coached by former NHL coach and goalie, and Hockey Hall of Fame member Patrick Roy. Last season Quebec finished with a 40-22-3 record before being eliminated in the opening round of playoffs.

Last season, Tilbury’s Nolan Gardiner, and Wallaceburg’s Brady Pataki also suited up in the QMJHL, as did former Chatham Maroons forward Kevin Gursoy.
