Team Brodie Wins Athletes Fuel Cup
Calgary Flames defender TJ Brodie was named Tournament MVP after his team beat Team Griffith 12-6 in the championship game.
Deni Goure scored 4 goals in the game and was named game MVP. The youngster was also the tournament’s leading goal scorer notching 12. He will play for the Chatham-Kent Cyclones minor midget ‘AAA’ team this season and considered a prospect to go in the top two rounds of the OHL draft.
Winnipeg Jets forward Seth Griffith was second in tournament scoring with 10 goals, followed by OHLer Brendan Harrogate and NCAA forward Teddy McGeen who each had 9.
Most training camps for these local hockey players open this weekend or early next week.
