Sydney Authier of Wallaceburg will still be on the ice with the Ryerson University Rams women’s hockey team this year, just not in the same role she has taken on in the past.

Authier, who was a goaltender for Ryerson for the past three seasons, will serve as a student goalie coach this year, and equipment manager.

“Thank you @ryersonramswhky for the opportunity you have given me to lace them up the last 3 years. Thank you for the life long friendships and memories I will cherish forever,” Authier wrote on social media. “Although this journey hasn’t been easy, I never stopped loving the game, I just found a new way to appreciate it. With that being said, I am extremely excited for new experiences and to begin my new journey as a Ram.”

Authier who is an alumni of the Chatham Outlaws and UCC Lancers appeared in 31 games collecting a 2.31 GAA and .915 save percentage with a 9-19-0 record over three seasons.
