Wallaceburg’s Seth Griffith obviously has his hopes set on making the Winnipeg Jets out of training camp, although the winger is pegged to start the season with the AHL’s Manitoba Moose.

The Jets will open training camp this week, with physicals scheduled for Thursday, and fitness testing Friday.

The Jets signed Griffith to a one-year, two-way contract this offseason worth $650,000 at the NHL level.

Griffith has played for seven professional teams over the past three seasons, including four NHL teams.

Last year, Griffith split the season between the NHL’s Buffalo Sabres and AHL’s Rochester Americans.

With Buffalo, the 25-year-old had 2 goals and 3 points in 21 appearances. An accomplished scorer and All-Star at the AHL level, Griffith had 15 goals and 41 points in 46 games before adding 4 points in 3 playoff games.

Over the past three seasons, Griffith has also played NHL games for the Florida Panthers, Toronto Maple Leafs, and the Boston Bruins, who drafted him in 2012.
