Marjorie Crew: CK Election & Sports Interview
Below are the Chatham-Kent election and sports interview responses for Ward 6, Chatham council candidate Marjorie Crew. Remember to vote October 22.
Name: Marjorie Crew
Hometown and Ward: Chatham- Ward 6
Community involvement is something I have always valued deeply and it’s so important to me to
continue to have a positive and responsible role in strengthening and moving Chatham-Kent
forward. Chatham-Kent must have a diverse group of representatives to make important
decisions that affect all of our citizens.
I will work to build a progressive, vibrant and safe community that will be welcoming to new
citizens and to retain our future generations.
It is so important for communities to have reliable, accessible recreation and sports facilities that
will suit all ages and abilities. Recreation and sports facilities are important factors in ensuring
good quality of life indicators when interest in relocating to a community whether it is families or
industry.
I support the concept of a new twin pad arena in Chatham-Kent. But that is the easy statement.
I believe that these types of facilities can be an economic draw for our community and a solid
investment for all ages. If this council has the progressive mindset to move forward with this
type of project, they must do so now. The costs will continue to rise the longer it is put off. A
strategy to fund it will need to be addressed by council if a decision is made to proceed.
Whatever the challenge or direction, Chatham-Kent 2018 council will need to work together and
communicate with one another in a positive, meaningful way to produce outcomes that benefits
us all as a whole
I have always used my life experience, integrity and honesty when making decisions on behalf
of our citizens. I will continue to do this for you as your Ward 6 Councilor.
