Yes. That was a quick answer.

Chatham-Kent has several awesome locations for an outdoor hockey game or series like the one recently held in Windsor, Ontario at Lanspeary Park.

Southern Ontario Motor Speedway (South Buxton). Dresden Raceway (Dresden). The Chatham-Kent Community Athletic Complex (Chatham). Steinhoff Park (Wallaceburg).

Any of these spots would have enough space, lighting, and built in seating to get this started.

It would be a great way to build community spirit, and showcase youth and Junior hockey.

Chatham-Kent has older indoor complexes, but there’s nothing saying the community can’t build off the recent events such as Pinty’s and Hometown Hockey that have the local sports community buzzing.

The challenge after such events is not to let the momentum slide. What’s next?

How about an outdoor hockey series here in Chatham-Kent? Obviously it is too late for this winter, but it’s also the perfect time to get the ball rolling for next year.
