The Chatham Maroons mounted an impressive comeback, but it was too little too late Sunday night as the Komoka Kings won 6-4.

Chatham outshot Komoka 41-25, but couldn’t manage to find the back of the net until it was too late.

Komoka jumped out to a 2-0 lead after one period, and a 4-0 lead after two periods, and a 5-1 lead in the third, before Chatham fought back to make it 5-4.

Griffin Robinson got Chatham on the board, followed by goals from Brett Fisher, Sean O’Brien, and Nolan Gardiner.

With the net pulled however, and the score 5-4, Komoka slid another home, with Blenheim’s Cameron Welch picking up an assist on the Komoka goal.

Komoka now leads the best-of-seven series 2-1.

Game four is Tuesday in Komoka at 7:15pm.
