Chatham Coloured All-Stars 85th Anniversary Celebration Coming To Sons of Kent
On October 23, 1934, the Chatham Coloured All-Stars became the first all Black baseball team to win the Ontario Baseball Amateur Association championship.
On Saturday, October 26 at Sons of Kent Brewery in Chatham, a celebration will be held in honour of the Chatham Coloured All-Stars 85th anniversary.
2019 marks 85 years since this team overcame barriers to bring an OBA championship to Chatham, Ontario.
Entrance to the event, which runs from 1pm-3pm on October 26, will be made by donation. Refreshments will be available for purchase, as will Chatham Coloured All-Star merchandise including comic books, cards, prints, and t-shirts.
