Bantam Crush Building On Early Success

The Chatham-Kent Crush Bantam ‘A’ team already have a tournament win to their name this season, and they’re continuing to build on their early successes.

The Bantam Crush went 2-1 this past week, allowing only 2 goals and 34 shots over the span of 3 games.

Wednesday night saw the Crush defeat the Lakeshore Lightning 2-0. Goal scores were Abby Tape and Jeanette Legere with assists from Jeanette Legere, Alex Maryschak and Lucie Maine. Libby Barnard posted the hard fought shutout.

Saturday was a rematch with Lakeshore with Chatham-Kent coming out on the losing end of a 2-1 score. Lindsay St. Germain had the lone goal for CK with Alex Maryschak and Emily Debrouwer picking up the assists. This game came down to the wire with CK hitting a late post and a couple scrambles around the net in the dying seconds. Amber Parent was strong in net for CK.

On Sunday, Chatham-Kent hosted the Bluewater Hawks. CK defeated the girls from Bluewater 5-0 with Libby Barnard posting her 4th straight shutout. Goals scorers were Adriana Pezzutti (2), Lindsay St. Germain, Emily DeBrouwer and Jeanette Legere with assists from Ashlynn Spence (2), Adriana Pezzutti, Analise Legere, Abby Tape and Morgyn Woudenberg.
