Trips to Lakeshore to face the Canadiens are never a fun affair, and for the Blenheim Blades Friday night it was no exception. Blenheim was held off the score board and would suffer a 6-0 defeat.

The Blades did hold off the flood for two periods, but like waves in the lake, they eventually wear you down.

After one period, there was no score, and after two the Blades were only down by two. Lakeshore got goals from Eric Larue and Jake Nimmo.

In the third at the 11:12 mark, Nimmo scored his second of the night. Twenty seconds later Brendan Richie scored his first goal as a Canadien, after being acquired from the Dresden Kings. Tycen Chittle put Lakeshore up 5-0 when he scored at 14:26 and eleven seconds later Jarrett Tazzman got the final goal of the game for a 6-0 win. Blades goaltender Caleb Pinsonneault faced 41 shots, and played well enough to keep his team in touch, for a greater part of the game.

Lakeshore goaltender Romano Liburdi only faced 22 shots on the night, and most of them were from long range.

Former Blade Kier Cumming also played his first as a Canadien, after being acquired last week. Cumming’s who had not played a game this season for Blenheim, was held off the score sheet.
