The Wallaceburg Midget ‘BB’ girls hockey team won the International Silverstick tournament this weekend in Sarnia.

On Friday, Wallaceburg opened with a lopsided 7-0 win over the St. Clair Saints 17U team.

They continued their stingy defence later that day, shutting out Stratford 3-0.

On Saturday, Wallaceburg opened with a 1-1 tie against South Huron, before beating the St. Clair Saints 16U team 5-1.

In the semi-finals, Wallaceburg again beat Stratford, this time by a score of 3-1 to advance to the Silverstick championship game.

Facing the same South Huron team they had tied previously in the tournament, the two teams again played a hard fought contest. Ultimately, Wallaceburg pulled ahead taking a 4-3 win to be named International Silverstick champions.
