Major Bantam Cyclones Eliminate Lambton To Open Playdowns
The Chatham-Kent Cyclones Major Bantam ‘AAA’ team eliminated the Lambton Jr. Sting 7-points to 1 in their opening round of Alliance Hockey playdowns.
To open their series, the two teams battled to a 3 -3 tie. Brenden McKay, David Brown, and Connor Tucker scored for the Cyclones. Brown also added an assist, while Brayden Degelas had two helpers.
In game two of series, the Cyclones shutout Lambton 3-0, with Jake Vancoillie taking the shutout in net. Degelas and Brown had a goal and an assist each, while TJ Pollard had the other Chatham-Kent goal.
Brayden Degelas continued his strong performance in game three, scoring a hat trick for Chatham-Kent in what would result in a 5-1 win. Trent Ledrew had a goal and two helpers, while Connor Tucker had a goal and an assist to round out the scoring.
In the series clinching game, Chatham-Kent took a 3-2 victory with goals from Tucker, Brown, and Carter Navage.
Chatham-Kent will now advance to play the Elgin-Middlesex Chiefs in round two.
