Off Ice Training Tip: Quick Hands Activity

The arenas are closed, offseason has started early, so let’s get to work.

You might not be able to hit the gym, but that doesn’t mean you can’t work on your stickhandling, footwork, and agility at home. We’ll be highlighting some drills each week to help you improve.

This drill is a simple quick hands activity. Set up a few pucks or cups for cones, use a tennis ball, golf ball, or off ice puck and follow the instructions below.

You can never been too good of a puckhandler, and repetition of these drills. Progress in this drill from looking down, to heads up, to working with a partner who stands in front of you having you call out the number of fingers they are holding up as you stickhandle.
