The NHL Central Scouting released their January players to watch list, which saw Grande Pointe’s Deni Goure move up to a ‘B’ rating, which is for players who could potentially be second or third round NHL draft picks.

The 5’10” forward had 25 points in 62 games last season for the OHL’s Owen Sound Attack, but showed his biggest improvements in the seasons second half.

Joining the NHL Central Scouting list is Tilbury’s Brett Brochu. Brochu had a strong camp for Canada’s World Junior team after scorching the OHL last season leading the league in goals against average, sitting second in save percentage, twice being named OHL Goaltender of the Month, and setting an OHL record for wins by a rookie netminder.

Both players are Chatham-Kent Cyclones alumni.

Another former Chatham-Kent Cyclone Johnny Ulicny was also listed as a C prospect. Ulicny who spent last season in the OJHL has been skating South of the border this season with the NCDC’s Islanders Hockey Club.
