It looked as though the Chatham-Kent Cyclones U16 ‘AAA’ team was going to open their 2021-2022 regular season with a win, but the Kitchener Jr. Rangers had other ideas.

In the opening frame, Chatham-Kent jumped out to a 2-0 lead, but Kitchener would come back to win 3-2.

Owen Murree opened the scoring with an assist on the goal coming from Tom Blundy.

A few minutes later, Aidan Edwards scored with Gavin Meriano and Luc Blanchette assisting.

Following the first period however, Kitchener took over and pinned Chatham-Kent to their own zone. Cyclones netminder Jack Martin held Chatham-Kent in the game, turning away several point blank opportunities, but it wasn’t enough. He stopped 29 shots in the loss.
