McEwan, Raaymakers Earn Early Honours

James McEwan and Joseph Raaymakers each earned early recognition from the USports school’s earning early season Athlete of the Week honours.

McEwan scored two goals and and two assists in two games for the University of New Brunswick Reds last week.

“James has had a great start to his season and is one of our fittest players,” said Reds head coach Gardiner MacDougall in a school news release. “He’s used that as a foundation to become a consistent contributor to our team’s success.”

The week prior, netminder Joseph Raaymakers earned St. Francis Xavier men’s athlete of the week honours stopped 57 of 62 shots in a pair of wins.

The duo will face off against each other this coming weekend.
