Sasseville Off To A Fast Start To Her NCAA Swimming Career

Chatham’s Genevieve “Gigi” Sasseville has started her NCAA Division I collegiate experience by making waves.

Sasseville, who is new to swimming the United States short course yards, has completed her first two varsity swim meets and has shown success with her new team, the University of Southern California.

Her first meet was a season opener invitational held October 15-16 at the University of Southern California (USC). While definitely a learning experience for Sasseville, she still came away with four podium finishes including silver in the 400 yard medley relay, and bronze in the 100 yard butterfly, 200 yard free relay, and 200 yard medley relay.

In her second DI Meet, held October 29 at USC, Sasseville faced Washington State University in an outdoor unsuited dual meet where USC was the victor. Sasseville contributed to her team’s success winning gold with the 200 yard medley relay, and bronze in the 200 yard butterfly and 200 yard freestyle.

Sasseville’s next adventure is travelling with the team to Arizona for two dual meets this upcoming weekend.
