73s Dull Blades

The Essex 73’s came to Blenheim Sunday night and handed the Blades a convincing 10-4 set back. Essex scored the first three goals of the game, the first one just 50 seconds in. Blenheim’s leading scorer Tate Bowden finally replied at the 15:41 mark.
Blades Ian Campbell potted an early second period goal to bring the game close at 3-2, unfortunately for Blenheim, the 73’s would reply ever time the Blades would pick away at the lead. Tate Bowden scored his second of the at the halfway point of the second, and again Essex would reply. Seth Henderson scored his 15 th goal of the season for Blenheim, but once again a little over a minute later, Liam Hall of Essex scored his second of the contest. The 73’s would score an additional two to end the second, up 8-4.
The Blades gave starting goaltender Jake Vancoillie the rest of the night of and Caleb Pinsonneault came in for the third. Essex would score two more goals in the third to give the a 10-4 win. Essex’s Matt Smith scored a pair, as well as singles to Carson Noble, Everett Parent, Conor Dembinski , Carter
Dembinski , Luke Sherk, and Karson Beuglet.
The Blades were scheduled to play at home again the league leading Lakeshore Canadiens (21-0), but the new Covid restrictions will no doubt put a halt to play.
