Chatham native featured on USC swim team poster
A local swimmer has been featured as the representative for the University of Southern California (USC).
When the University of Southern California swim team has a meet, they often choose an athlete to appear on a poster, which is then featured online.
This past weekend on January 7 the university chose Chatham’s Gigi Sasseville as one of the athletes to promote a men’s and women’s dual swim meet. The USC Trojans emerged victorious in both meets against the University of Nevada, Las Vegas.
The competition saw Sasseville place seconds in the Women’s 200 fly.
At USC, media photos are taken very seriously, with media day providing an exciting experience for the athletes. Throughout the year, the university uses those photos to promote competitions and the swim team.
In her early years, Sasseville attended McNaughton Ave Public School and John N Given Public School in Chatham, before moving on to Chatham-Kent Secondary School.
