Local golfers continue to shine
Mat Hawryluk of Chatham and member at Maple City Golf Club is having a great collegiate season.
Mat emerged victorious at the Indianapolis Fall Invitational the end of September, winning the tournament with a score of 207 (67-73-67). Mat’s come from behind win was his first win at the collegiate level, marking a significant milestone in his golfing journey.
The competition also saw Chatham’s Garret Day finish tied for 14th place with an even par 216 (70-73-73), contributing to his NCAA school Wayne State’s runner-up honors among the 16-team field.
In Girls High School golf, Hannah Butzer, clinched victory in the LKSSAA Golf Championship last month. Hannah shot 77 and won by one over Kassandra Rombouts, who finished second.
