Happy birthday to Chatham’s own Fergie Jenkins.

The Baseball Hall of Famer was born on this day (December 13) in 1942, making him 81 years-old today.

People always ask us how Fergie would do in today’s Major League Baseball. We say we think he would be a solid right-handed reliever out of the bullpen for some team.

People are often incredulous, saying only a reliever? But then we remind them he is now in his 80s.
