Maroons seven-game winning streak snapped

The Chatham Maroons had their seven-game winning streak snapped, losing 5-2 to the Hamilton Kilty B’s on Sunday night at Chatham Memorial Arena.

The Maroons had some untimely turnovers and uncharismatic sloppy play to fall behind 3-0 heading into the second period.

Hamilton advanced to the Sutherland Cup last year as their conference champion,

Blain Bacik and David Brown had the Maroons’ markers.

In another crossover league matchup, the Maroons won 6-3 in Cambridge on Saturday night. David Brown led the way for Chatham with two goals, while, Brown had two goals with Owen Kalp, Noah Mathieson, Sam Warriner and

Aidan Edwards picked up singles. O’Donnell earned the win in the Maroons net.

The Maroons (16-11-2-0) are fourth in the Western Conference. They have two road games this week, playing the first-place LaSalle Vipers Wednesday and the second-place St. Marys Lincolns on Friday.
