Volleyball
The Chatham-Kent Golden Hawks senior girls volleyball team lost in th quarterfinals of the OFSAA AAA tournament last week.
Chatham-Kent lost to the number two seed Oakville Trafalgar 3-0 (25-11, 25-19, 25-19) in a quarter-final at the OFSAA girls’ AAA volleyball championship in Markham on March 5.
The Golden Hawks advanced to the final eight by going 3-1 in pool play.
Wrestling
Ursuline’s Alyssa Crummer won an antique bronze in the girls’ 51kg category at the OFSAA wrestling tournament held last week in Hamilton. Lancer wrestlers Landyn Bardoel, Ayden Brown, Emmanuella Caleb and Abby Case-Bullard also represened Ursuline at OFSAA.
Swimming
Pain Court’s Gavin Schinkelshoek and Payton Rinas and Wallaceburg’s Brock Mathieson competed in A finals at the OFSAA swimming championship in Toronto last week.
Schinkelshoek was sixth in the open boys’ 100-metre backstroke and Rinas was eighth in the open girls’ 100 backstroke.
Mathieson was eighth in the junior boys’ 50 metre backstroke.
