Wallaceburg Sports Hall of Fame announces inductees and award winners
The Wallaceburg Sports Hall of Fame awards and inductee dinner will take place April 6 at the UAW Hall. Doors open at 5pm. Tickets are available at Kim Murrays Desjardins Insurance for $70.
The head speaker this year is Greg Harrison. Harrison created many of the NHL goalie masks from the past and will be bringing several of them to the banquet.
The Sports Hall of Fame recently announced their inductees and award winners who will be honoured at their 2024 dinner.
The inductees include; Gord Lilley (male athlete), Allison Lee-Holloway (female athlete), Tony Metayer (coach/official), Tom and Al’s Quality Home Furnishings (builder inductee) and the 1983 Wallaceburg Tyke baseball team (team inductee).
The annual award winners who will be honoured include; Brett Fischer and Waukiigan Shognosh (co-athletes), Shona Branton and Kaitlyn Isaac (co-outstanding achievement), Tyler White and Matthew Johnston (co-coaches of the year), Steve Bilodeau Memorial Golf Tournament (Builder of the Year)
The 2023 Ray Aarssen/WSHOF Scholarship recipient is Ashton Vink.
Chatham-Kent Sports Network plans on running the biographies of the award winners and inductees over the next few days.
