Chatham Diamonds win U13 OBA championship

The Chatham Diamonds U13 team won the Ontario Baseball Association A championship in Oshawa on Labour Day weekend.

Chatham beat North London 8-7 in a close and thrilling final.

Overall, the Diamonds went 6-1 in the double knockout provincial tournament.

The Diamonds opened with wins over Markham (13-0), LaSalle (22-10), Oshawa (15-5) and Guelph (3-2). Chatham then lost to North London 9-6, putting them in a win or go home scenario.

The Diamonds responded with an 11-1 win over Guelph to set up the rematch against North London in the final.
