École Secondaire Pain Court boys swim team took the boys swimming championship at the LKSSAA meet held January 16 at the Sarnia YMCA.
This is the first time that ESPC has won an overall title in swimming. Pain Court finished with 629 points and Sarnia Northern was second with 560 points.
Sarnia Northern won the girls overall title. Pain Court was third, and Wallaceburg finished in fifth out of eight teams.
Sarnia Northern won the combined team title.
The gold and silver swimmers in each event have earned an automatic swim at SWOSSAA. (This is also true for swimmers in the WECSSAA region). After all entries are collected, the top 26 times will also qualify for SWOSSAA. This will be held in Windsor on Feb. 20 at the WIATC. Swimmers must meet this year’s time standards at SWOSSAA to qualify for OFSAA Championships in March.
