Maroons’ Lachance wins GOJHL weekly honour
Chatham Maroons forward Ian Lachance has been named Greater Ontario Junior Hockey League’s Western Conference performer of the week. In two games last week Lachance scored four goals and added three assists for seven points.
The Timmins native is property of the OHL’s Saginaw Spirit, who drafted him in the second round of the 2024 OHL U18 draft. This is his first year as a Maroon.
Lachance is third in Maroon scoring. In 35 games he has 21 goals and 17 assists for 38 points.
The Maroons have a strong rookie class, including Liam Campbell (37 points), Carter Chadwick (24 points), Parker Nyitray (24 points), Trevor Zanutto (18 points) and Cruz Ferguson (16 points).
Additionally, they have two strong rookie goalies in Gannon Hunter (2.85 GAA) and Samuel DiBlasi (2.86 GAA).
