Maroons name Richter captain

Dylan Richter has been named the Chatham Maroons captain for the 2025-2026 season.

The Chatham Maroons are bringing back one of their big guns for next season—and have him serve a big leadership role.

Dylan Richter, who was a mid-season pickup last season, was announced by the Maroons on social media that he would be coming back and will be the captain for the 2025-2026 season.

The Parkhill native started the season in the Ontario Hockey League with the North Bay Battalion, before coming to Chatham in January. In 18 regular season games, Richter scored 12 goals and added 19 assists for 31 points.

Richter was originally a fifth-round draft choice for the Battalion in 2022.

In the playoffs, Richter battled injuries, but play 21 games and had 13 goals and 20 assists for 33 points, to help the Maroons win the Sutherland Cup. He was named the GOJHL Western Conference MVP for his efforts.
