Mitchell wins fourth straight Ontario championship

Walpole Island First Nation’s Cheryl Mitchell won the women’s division at the 2025 Ontario Indigenous golf championship.
This is the fourth consecutive year she has won this tournament.
The event was held Aug. 11-13 at MontHill Golf and Country Club.
Mitchell, who now resides in Ohio, shot 228 (76-77-75) to finish 11 strokes ahead of second-place finisher Melanie Burgess.
Moriviantown’s Savana Smith was fourth, shooting a 253. She was the top junior golfer.
Smith is heading into her sophomore season at Adrian College where she is a member of the women’s golf team.
