Wallaceburg’s hockey history takes centre ice this weekend.
The Wallaceburg Minor Hockey Association is celebrating its 75th anniversary. Organizers say from players who took their first strides on home ice, to volunteers who have given countless hours, to fans who have filled the stands year after year, the milestone belongs to everyone in the Wallaceburg Minor hockey family.
All Lakers, past and present, are invited to take in home games at Wallaceburg Memorial Arena throughout the weekend, starting Friday at 6pm. The weekend also includes community barbecues and fundraising raffles.
A special celebration is being held at Civic Square Park at 1 o’clock Sunday afternoon, commemorating 75 years of Wallaceburg Minor Hockey. Players, coaches, volunteers, and fans are invited to come in their WMHA colours and enjoy the festivities.
