De Santis commits to Coastal Carolina

Chatham’s Gino De Santis has committed to play college baseball for Coastal Carolina University.

A Grade 11 student at John McGregor Secondary School, De Santis is one of Canada’s top baseball prospects. He is eligible to be drafted in the 2027 Major League Baseball draft.

A power-hitting catcher, De Santis plays for the Great Lakes Canadians program and has played for Canada’s junior baseball team.

The Coastal Carolina Chanticleers baseball program is located in Conway, South Carolina. The program are one-time national champions, winning the 2016 College World Series. They play in the Sun Belt Conference. They have made 21 NCAA tournament appearances in their history, including the past four seasons.
