Maroons’ Breast Cancer Awareness Night Hailed A Success

The Chatham Maroons are celebrating a record-breaking event in support of breast cancer survivors.

The Junior B hockey club held its Breast Cancer Awareness Night over the weekend, with all proceeds going to The Breast Buddies Dragon Boat team.

During Sunday’s game against the LaSalle Vipers at Memorial Arena, the Maroons wore special pink jerseys as a tribute to breast cancer survivors. The jerseys were autographed by the players and auctioned off after the game. Several silent auction items were also made available.

Organizers said a total of $4,005 was raised, the largest single-year amount since the event’s inception.

The Maroons’ Breast Cancer Awareness Night has raised over $33,000 since 2013.
