Torrie to enter Blades Hall of Fame

The Blenheim Blades will celebrate 60 years of Blenheim Blades history on Saturday, November 22.

Dave Torrie will be entered into the Blades Hall of Fame.

Torrie is a former Blades head coach and is currently the coordinator of pro scouting with the NHL’s Los Angeles Kings. Torrie joined the Kings in 2015 as a pro scout.

Torrie was in the scouting department with the Buffalo Sabres for four years (2011-15), originally serving as an Amateur Scout for two seasons before being promoted to the Director of Amateur Scouting for the following two seasons.

Torrie also worked for 12 years with the Ontario Hockey League’s (OHL) Sault Ste. Marie Greyhounds from 1999 to 2011, as a scout, Director of Player Personnel and general manager, a role which he held for eight seasons.

The Blades Alumni weekend will feature alumni games at 3 and 4 p.m. The current Blades team will play the Walpole Island Wild at 6 p.m.

There will be a bar at Blenheim Memorial Arena for fans and alumni to mingle and talk about glory days.
