Lancers win Chatham Sports Hall of Fame tournament

The Ursuline Lancers senior boys’ basketball team won the annual Chatham Sports Hall of Fame Senior Boys’ Basketball Blue and White tournament on Saturday.

The Lancers defeated JF Ross (Guelph) 67-52 on their home court in the final.

Ursuline defeated Upper Canada College 65-40 in the semi-final, in an all UCC battle.

Three Lancers earned tournament honours: sharpshooter Gibson Dunlop was named the tournament MVP, while former St. Elizabeth Charger Jon Feddes and Tayeshawn Hadden were named to the tournament all-star team.

Ursuline opened the tournament with a 62-38 win over London Banting.

Four teams from Chatham (Ursuline, CKSS, Chatham-Christian and John McGregor) took part.

Chatham-Kent went 1-2, defeating Chatham Christian (64-38), while losing to St. Anne’s and Sarnia St. Pat’s.

McGregor went 0-3, losing to St. Andre Besssette, Banting and Upper Canada College.

Chatham Christian went 0-3, losing to CKSS, JF Ross and Windsor Riverside.
