Maroons raise money for mental health programming

The Chatham Jr. Maroons second annual “ Face Off for Mental Health ” game for the CK Mental Health Table held Sunday, January 18 raised $3,767 and was a huge success due to the generosity of fans and sponsors, said Karen Szekesy, vice president of the Chatham Jr. Maroons.
Money was raised from the auction of the special green warmup jerseys worn by the Maroons and other donated sports memorabilia items plus a donation from the Chatham Jr. Maroons Hockey club.
The funds will help support mental health programming for the youth in our community.
The warmup jerseys were donated by Simply Vinyl Signs & Graphics and Sal & Son Ornamental Welding Shop.
“The Chatham Jr Maroons continue to be incredible role models for young athletes and the community,” said Cathy DeBresser Knowler, Chair of the Mental Health Table. “By partnering in this awareness game, we hope to spark meaningful conversations and empower players, families, and fans to recognize the signs of struggle and know where to find help.”
