Brown has impressive debut season at Bellevue

Without stating the obvious, Chatham’s Marguerite Brown had a good season playing catcher for Bellevue University

A junior at Bellevue, Brown started all 54 games at catcher in her first season at Bellevue, a NAIA school located in Bellevue Nebraska.
Brown batted .460 with a .510 on-base percentage and .781 slugging percentage.
She totaled 86 hits, 43 runs, 29 doubles, two triples, nine home runs, 40 RBIs, 18 walks, and 146 total bases. She led her team in batting average, on-base percentage, slugging percentage, hits, doubles, runs scored, and total bases, while ranking second in home runs and RBIs
She finished with 28 multi-hit games, 12 multi-RBI games, and nine games with a home run, She set BU single-season records for batting average and doubles, while also ranking fourth in hits, fifth in on-base percentage, sixth in total bases, and 10th in slugging percentage on the program’s single-season records chart.
A graduate of Chatham-Kent Secondary School, Brown played with the Chatham Golden Eagles program and Woodstock D1 Nationals, before spending her freshman and sophomore years at Kankakee Community College.
