Wallaceburg Sting U14 boys soccer team win EMDSL District championship

The Wallaceburg Sting boys U14 soccer team won the Elgin Middlesex District Soccer League EMDSL District Championship on the weekend, defeating AEL FC 2-1 in the championship game.
Abdirahman Abdi score the winning goal with six minutes remaining to break up a 1-1 tie. Abdi was set up on a breakaway by a pass from Boston Bedell.
Kaiden May had Wallaceburg’s other goal. Brycen Fife earned the victory in the Sting net.
Going into the final, AEL FC was undefeated. Coaches highlighted the play of Marko Schoger who delivered key defensive marking to shut down the league’s top scorer, while Rhio Vinagreiro and Logan List both played well as midfielders.
Wallaceburg advanced to the final with a 2-0 defensive win over London Alliance in the semi-finals.
Filipe Vinagreiro is the U14 head coach.
