Schives begins pro hockey career in Italy

Tilbury’s Dylan Schives, has joined the professional hockey ranks with Italy’s Rittner Buam, of the Alps Hockey League, for the 2026-27 season.

In three games so far in Italy, Schives has three points in three games.

Schives, 25, played the past three seasons at the University of Windsor as a defenceman. He was the Lancers’ leading defenceman scorer in 2025-26 with 24 points in 28 games and helped Windsor reach the U Sports University Cup.

Schives played in 2017-18 with the Chatham Maroons, then spent three seasons in the Quebec Maritimes Junior Hockey League with the Quebec Remparts and Baie-Comeau Drakkar. He also played one season apiece with the BCHL’s Prince George Spruce Kings and the Southern Alberta Institute of Technology.
