Barr makes Team Canada field lacrosse debut

Wes Barr

Wallaceburg’s Wes Barr recently represented Canada with the U15 National Development Team as a FOGO (face-off specialist) at the Brogden Cup, held September 25–27, 2026 in Maryland.

The team was made up of players from across Canada. Barr competed in both the Sixes and field lacrosse formats, playing against Team USA and The Haudenosaunee Nationals. Canada ultimately lost to Team USA in the final.

Barr is 13 years old and is currently in Grade 8 at Christ the King in Wallaceburg. In the past two years, he has also played for Team Ontario’s U13 field lacrosse team.

During the summer, Wes plays box lacrosse with the Wallaceburg Griffins. He also plays field lacrosse year-round with the Juiced Cherries program out of Michigan, competing in tournaments primarily throughout the Eastern United States.

Barr also plays with the Beast Lacrosse program out of Toronto. He competed in the World Series of Lacrosse last July with Beast, one of the premier U13 lacrosse tournaments in the United States. His team achieved the highest finish by a Canadian team in the history of the tournament. Barr will be returning this summer to compete again at the World Series of Lacrosse in Philadelphia.
