Campbell signs contract with Sting

Dracen Campbell signs standard player contract with Sarnia Sting on Oct. 6, 2026

Wallaceburg’s Dracen Campbell has officially signed with the OHL’s Sarnia Sting.

Campbell has played well so far with the Sting, with five assists in six games on the blueline.

Sarnia is Campbell’s hometown team, growing up just a short ride down Highway 40 to watch Sting games as a kid. He played AAA in Lambton and as a 16 year-old for the Mooretown Flags of the PJCHL, where he was his division’s rookie-of-the-year. The next year he played in the GOHL with Stratford.

Campbell spent the last year with the Prince George Spruce Kings of the BCHL, where he recorded 17 points in 52 games.

Campbell tried out for Erie this summer and was cut. He then attended Sting training camp and played in three preseason games.

Sarnia Sting General Manager Dylan Seca said, “He’s very reliable and a smooth skater. He’s a calm decision-maker who can defend. He shows up and gives everything he has every time. He’s just a great teammate to have”.

During his signing, Campbell said, “Signing here means so much to me. Growing up and watching Sting games, it’s a dream come true. It’s been a long journey, and I’ve been trying to grind my way out. Now that I’m here, it feels great.”

“When you add up all of his great player qualities and the fact that he’s a local product who always came to Sting games as a kid and dreamed of being a member of the Sarnia Sting, it’s a great full-circle story that we are excited to be a part of,” said Seca.
