Chatham’s Brooke MacKinnon, a member of the Western Mustangs golf team, finished third at the Ontario University Athletics women’s golf tournament held October 16-18 at Hylands Golf Course near Ottawa.

MacKinnon fired a two-day total of 155 (76, 79), six shots behind champion Ela Jones from the University of Guelph. Western finished in fifth place out of 11 women teams.

For her efforts, MacKinnon was named the Western University female athlete of the week. She was also named an OUA first-team all-star.

Last month, MacKinnon tied for first at the Western Invitational golf tournament.

A Chatham-Kent Secondary School graduate, MacKinnon golfed at the University of Hartford prior to Western.
