Ridgetown To Compete in OFSAA Curling This Week
Ridgetown, ON – Ridgetown District High School (RDHS) is competing in the OFSAA Curling Championships starting Wednesday in Thunder Bay, Ontario.
Making the more than 1,300 kilometre trek to Thunder Bay is a huge investment for one of Chatham-Kent’s smallest high schools, but after their success at the local KCSSAA level, and at the larger SWOSSAA Championships, Ridgetown will be looking to strike gold at OFSAA.
Unlike many other sports, curling is an “open” event meaning school’s of all sizes compete against each other. This means the school of roughly 300 students from Ridgetown, could be competing against school’s with 3000 students.
In pool play, top ranked Ridgetown will place Malvern Collegiate, London Central, Sir Winston Churchill, and Fort Frances to decide whether or not they will advance to the playoff rounds.
