Brady Campbell Powers Elmira To Game 1 Sutherland Cup Win
Playing for an Ontario Junior B title in the Sutherland Cup, Brady Campbell propelled his team to a game one win in the best of seven Sutherland Cup final series. In game one, on the heels of a three point night by Campbell, the Elmira Sugar Kings slipped past the Niagara Falls Canucks 4-2.
To open the game, Brady Campbell scored only seven seconds in on a feed from Josh MacDonald. After Niagara tied the game 1-1 in the first, Campbell opened the second period scoring again, assisted by MacDonald and Andrew Smith.
Niagara again answered back, but Cambell’s line of Smith and MacDonald powered back with MacDonald scoring assisted by Campbell and Smith. Finally in the third, Smith put the game away for the Elmira Sugar Kings who took a 1-0 series lead with their 4-2 win.
Campbell, a former Blenheim Blades star, was a force for his team scoring twice and adding an assist. Game one was held in Niagara Falls, while game two returns to Elmira Sunday, May 1 with the puck dropping at 7:00pm.
