Two Chatham-Kent Football Players Participating in All-Star Showcase Games
Two Chatham-Kent football players will be competing in an All-Star game on April 17th at McMaster University. Clark Green and Jordan Deneau made it to the final selection camp of over 100 athletes and then were selected for the final roster of 50 athletes. Try-outs were in the fall, with selections completed shortly after the Christmas break.
Jordan Deneau a grade 11 student from UCC, and member of the Chatham-Kent Cougars JV squad, was selected as a Defensive Tackle for the Rising Stars all-star team, made up of Grade 9-11’s from across Ontario with a concentration from the GTA and Southwestern Ontario. They will be playing the Team Quebec All-Stars from the Montreal area. Te Rising Stars game will be played on April 17th at 12:00 pm at McMaster University.
Clark Green, a grade 11 student from CKSS, and Chatham-Kent Cougars JV member, was selected as the Punter/Kicker for the Golden Horseshoe All-Stars, made up of the best Grade 12-12+ players from the Niagara, Waterloo area, London, Hamilton and Sarnia. They will be playing the GTA All-stars from Toronto. The game will also be played April 17th at 3:00 pm at McMaster University. Clark will be the only kicker and will be handling both punting and kicking duties. Green made the this All-Star team although he is at least a full year younger than the majority of players on this squad.
Dozens of players from the game in which Green will play have already committed to CIS and NCAA University football programs, although Green still has one year left in his high school kicking career before he is eligible for University football.
