Suisham Misses Steelers Game, Illness to Blame
Pittsburgh Steelers kicker Shaun Suisham, of Wallaceburg, Ontario, missed Thursday night’s Pittsburgh Steelers preseason win against the Philadelphia Eagles.
Suisham was out of practice multiple days this week due to illness, which local sources report was appendicitis. Suisham reportedly had his appendix removed.
His replacement in the game, Swayze Waters, a 24-year-old rookie, was shakey kicking in Suisham’s place during the 24-14 Pittsburgh Steelers win. Waters kicked a 30-yard field goal and hit all 3 extra points in the game, however, Waters also missed two field goals late in the game
Shaun Suisham is expected to be back in action soon and is still considered the Pittsburgh Steelers number one kicker headed into the NFL season.
