Herreweyers Helps Team Ontario to National Field Lacrosse Gold

Former Wallaceburg Minor Lacrosse star Zach Herreweyers has added another trophy to his case after capturing gold with Team Ontario at the U-19 Field Lacrosse Nationals in Burnaby, British Columbia.

Ontario started the tournament with a narrow 12-10 win over Saskatchewan before clobbering Team Atlantic 34-2.

Saturday, Team Ontario opened the day with another big win shutting out Team Manitoba 23-0, before clipping British Columbia 15-12. The final round robin game Sunday, was another one sided Team Ontario win defeating Alberta 20-5.

The Gold Medal game, for the First Nations Trophy, was a rematch against British Columbia. Ontario edged BC 13-12 for the National title.
