CKSS, JMSS Win Girls Hoops Titles

The Chatham-Kent Secondary School Junior Girls, and John McGregor Senior girls took home Kent Basketball titles on Saturday night.

In the Junior Girls final, the CKSS Golden Hawks defeated the UCC Lancers 31-23. Brittany McLaren was the leading scorer for the Golden Hawks collecting 9-points in the win, while Kianna Shepley had 8.

Kennedy King was the top scorer for UCC with 9-points in the losing effort.

In the Senior Girls final, Bridget Carleton powered the JMSS Panthers to a 40-23 win over the Wallaceburg Tartans leading all scorers with 11-points in the game. Laura Polowich had 9, and Anique Daley had 7 for the Panthers.

WDSS was led by Alyssa Lucier and Donika Stonefish, who each scored 4-points.
